Catherine McDonald was born on 11 April 1855.1 She married William Edward Moser, son of George Moser and Anna Lang, on 5 February 1877 at Moser River, Halifax County, Nova Scotia.1
NS Vital Stats records a marriage between Catherine Moser (age 24, S, d/o Arch, fisherman and Mary Ann) and William Edward Moser (age 40, B, s/o George, farmer, and Ann), 5 Feb 1877, Moser River, Presbyterian. However, I think there is a good chance there may be an error in the bride's name. There does not seem to be a couple Arch[ibald] and Mary Ann Moser in the area, but there is an Arch and Mary Ann McDonald. They appear in the 1871, 1881, and 1891 census records; in 1881 and 1891 Arch McDonald is listed as a fisherman, matching the occupation given for Catherine's father in the marriage registration information. The downside of this idea is that I cannot find a daughter Catherine for Arch and Mary Ann McDonald. Interestingly, there is a Catherine Moser of the right age (18) in the 1871 census, in the family of John [probably John Leonard, I think] and Elizabeth (McDonald) Moser. In fact, this Catherine Moser would be a niece of Arch McDonald, since Arch McDonald is a half-brother of Mary Elizabeth McDonald, mother of Catherine Moser.
