     Daniel MacDonald was born on 23 November 1838 at Jordan River, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia.1 He married Eliza Ann Parker, daughter of Thomas Parker and Letitia Elizabeth Caroline Mitchell, on 25 April 1872 at Halifax County, Nova Scotia.2,3 Daniel MacDonald died between 1888 and 1901.
      He was also known as Donald - he is listed that way in his baptismal record at Christ Church, Shelburne, NS. Is this really "my" Daniel? Parents given on marriage certificate as Donald (ok, I guess) and Mary - expected mother to be Elizabeth (Haddy).

Another problem is that his place of birth is given on the marriage certificate as Bay of Islands, whereas it should have been Shelburne County (though there is a small, illegible, note under the Bay of Islands birthplace entry).4
