SMITH is found in the 1881 Census with a Wife named Lucy, whose DOB in 1843/1844 fits nicely into the birth order of Johan Heinrich and Catherina Elizabeth (Slauenwhite) MOSER, who are know to be living at Ohio. Further two if the daughters of John Henry and Catherine are named John SMITH and James William McCORMICK!.

So it seems clear that Lucy is a daughter of John Henry and Catherine.[BobH]
