Jacob 'Jake' John Edgar Barkhouse married Sarah Ann Lawlor, daughter of Michael Lawlor and Ann Cameron, on 21 November 1877. Jacob 'Jake' John Edgar Barkhouse married Caroline M. "Carrie" Eisan, daughter of Frederick Eisan and Mary Sophia Weeks, on 12 January 1886 at Sheet Harbour, Halifax County, Nova Scotia. Jacob 'Jake' John Edgar Barkhouse died in 1917. He was buried at Church Point Cemetery, Sheet Harbour, Halifax County, Nova Scotia.1
